Basic Tactical Training

TSU Protection Services offers a basic and an advanced tactical training course. The tactical training courses are aimed at military and police departments and teach the principles of urban warfare. The basic course has a duration of 12 days.


The course is accredited with SASSETA:

  • Knowledge of the firearms control act 60/2000 U/S 117705
  • Handle and use of a handgun U/S 119649
  • Handle and use a handgun for business purposes U/S 123515
  • Handle and use of a shotgun U/S 119652
  • Handle and use a shotgun for business purposes U/S 123514
  • Handle and use of a self-loading rifle/carbine U/S 119650
  • Handle and us a self-loading rifle or carbine for business purposes U/S 123511
  • Apply tactical knowledge in the use of firearms U/S 123510
  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency with a handgun U/S 123513
  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency with a shotgun U/S 123512
  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency with a self-loading rifle or carbine U/S 123518

Assessment Methods

Based on theoretical and practical assessment and through comprehensive scenario based exercises, all course objectives must be passed in order to obtain your TSU Tactical 1 Course certificate.

Cost of the Basic Tactical Training Course

R 36 171 (including 15% VAT). Cost includes:

  • At R 450.00 per member per night – Room sharing (excl. 15% VAT)
  • At R 750.00 per member per night – Single room Accommodation (excl. 15% VAT)
