 Basic Tactical Training

TSU Protection Services offers a basic and advanced tactical training course. The tactical training courses are aimed at members that want to pursue a career in a tactical environment.  The course is designed to teach you how to handle yourself in a tactical environment within a group context.  The tactical course will improve and develop your shooting accuracy and tactical skills.  The course is also designed to refresh embedded tactical knowledge of security and government agencies.

The basic course has a duration of 12 days.

Accreditations

Unit Standards associated with the tactical course::

  • Apply tactical knowledge in the use of firearms U/S 123510
  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency with a handgun U/S 123513
  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency with a shotgun U/S 123512
  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency with a self-loading rifle or carbine U/S 123518

Assessment Methods

  • Written formative and summative assessments
  • Tactical shooting evaluations on handgun, carbine and shotgun
  • Tactical functional fitness evaluation
